global marine conservation

Our ocean is at risk due to human activities such as fishing, shipping, pollution, and global warming.

My research interests include marine sciences, environmental law and policy, international environmental policy and the United Nation’s sustainable development goals. Currently, I am studying high seas conservation and governance via the BBNJ text that is currently being negotiated at the United Nations.

Additionally, I am passionate about creative science communication and STEAM-based education for everyone at all levels

“the sea is common to all, because it is so limitless that it cannot become a possession of any one, and because it is adapted for the use of all, whether we consider it from the point of view of navigation or of fisheries”

- Hugo Grotius, Mare Liberum
